Our Lady of Grace School Receives Innovation in Education Award

On May 23rd, during the 25th Anniversary celebration of the founding of Classroom Inc., Our Lady of Grace School was awarded the prestigious Innovation in Education Award. The award was presented to the school by legendary NBC broadcaster, Tom Brokaw.

The introduction read as follows:

“Classroom Inc. is pleased to honor Our Lady of Grace School for its commitment and dedication to academic excellence. For over 66 years, Our Lady of Grace has administered to the educational, spiritual and social needs of its students. Today, Our Lady of Grace is home to over 350 students and 30 faculty and staff members. The school is proud of its reputation for providing a quality learning experience to all who enter its doors. Thanks to successful results, Our Lady of Grace has expanded its use of the Classroom Inc. programming within the school to strengthen students’ literacy and 21st century skills, as well as build confidence and foster career-awareness. The Read to Lead literacy and leadership program has been incorporated within all middle school grade levels, having started with two teachers several years ago. Classroom Inc. programs are also used as part of the Our Lady of Grace Summer Enrichment Program. Principal Richard Helmrich has supported his teachers and they use the Read to Lead to enthusiastically embrace new methods of teaching. Each year the Our Lady of Grace team challenges themselves and their students to take new creative leaps, using Read to Lead as a launch pad for further inquiry. Classroom Inc. is delighted to recognize Principal Richard Helmrich and the educators and students of Our Lady of Grace School with our Innovation in Education Award.”
